This exciting project is expected to create over 900 construction jobs and generate around 100 permanent jobs in various departments, including the casino, hotel, and catering facilities. Starting wages are set at a competitive $15 per hour, and all employees will have access to career growth opportunities within Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos.
Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River General Manager, Lumpy Lambert, expressed his enthusiasm for the expansion: “We recognized the need for expansion when we opened eight years ago. We are thrilled for the opportunity to grow and expand our market.”
Beyond enhancing the guest experience, the expansion also holds significant importance for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI). According to Lambert, “The expansion can assist in not only the continued development of tribal programs, but tribal distribution for enrolled members and job opportunities. Assisting tribal distribution and tribal programming are our primary goals for the EBCI.”

The expansion project is expected to be completed in phases, with the additional gaming floor opening in mid-2024, the hotel tower opening in late 2024, and the development of the remaining amenities following shortly after.
